No question the NAM forecast model is overdoing the precipitation amounts. It almost always does so one just learns to cut it back by 40-60%. While the run for tonight is not complete, one can expect a wild and crazy snow map. It really has pushed up the precipitation amounts to almost comedic levels. I should have the snow map in a few minutes.
By the way my call of 4-6" stands as of this point. I don't see any mixing coming this far north so you won't hear the painful ping of sleet against your window.
